Massage Jacket
The Concept
The massage jacket concept started with the idea to create a warm winter jacket that was comfortable for people to wear and which would give a sense of luxury.
The idea was to use a sports zip up jacket and place a piece of material inside that could carry a heat pad and a massage panel to be able to switch on and off as required to create the wearer's ideal comfortable environment.
This concept was designed with the elderly and hard working in mind so they could wear this jacket at any stage of the day wherever they are.
The Creation
The students in this group were organised form day one. They knew their concept and the end point that they wanted to achieve and how they needed to get to that point. The students started working hard from the start and started with a small design that they needed to elaborate on. The design started with the zip up jacket and a car seat massager. The students worked on tearing apart the car seat massager to only be left with the massage components. They were then straight on to the wiring of the massager to the battery pack and from here there was a small obstacle. The students needed a design light enough to carry around with a battery and the massager on their backs. With many minds working on this the obstacle was overcome and the design was a trendy high school jacket with built in comfort.
