C2C Wins 2009 Engineering Excellence Award
The Engineering Excellence Awards recognise the highest level of achievement and have the very clear objective of generating a greater public awareness of the engineering profession - what engineers do and how engineers contribute to the community and the economy.
Concept2Creation - Taking Advanced Manufacturing To Our Next Generation - was a joint entry by NAMIG, RAAF and BAE Systems in the South Australian Division's Engineering Excellence Awards 2009.
Not only was the Concept2Creation entry successful in winning the Leadership & Management 2009 Award, but we were also the proud recipient of the Special Achievement in Education 2009 Award.
The judges agreed that "this (C2C) program has clearly seen substantially increased student motivation, skills and experience in engineering, mathematics, science and technology and has provided students with a more transparent view of the relevance of curriculum and career opportunities available to them."
NAMIG was also a finalist in the 2009 South Australian Science Excellence Awards in the Community Science Educator of the Year category.
