A message from.....Brian Wildman, Adtech Engineering
(formerly NTS Global Group Pty Ltd)
From its establishment in 1988, NTS has consistently provided high quality, precision tooling and associated services to both national and international customers.
From day one, our vision has realised our reputation: 'TO BE THE BEST IN WHAT WE DO'
We are proud of our achievements, the relationships we have built and the standards we have set.
The keys to our success are skilled personnel utilising the latest technologies, and our ability to rapidly recognise and respond to our customer's needs.
In our 15th Year of operation, we have created a new platform for Advanced Technology Solutions that will predict, meet and exceed our customers' future expectations, driving our business strongly into the next decade.
Involvement with C2C Program
NTS was involved with the creation of the program, back when it was just a concept. I am 100% behind what C2C is trying to achieve and from all reports having great success. It is an unfortunate fact of life that running a business in a globalised economy today does not always allow us to put the amount of time and effort into programs such as this that are so important to the future of our industries. That has been the situation for NTS over the past 12 months but we are sure that this will soon change and I can again be involved in a program that is close and dear to me.
Opportunities for young people
I see many opportunities for young people today, not the same opportunities that were available when I was 16 but a lot of others that were not. Remember that you do not have to be the best scholar at school to succeed in the work place but you do have to put in your best effort. The opportunities that I see today are not in the areas of white collar (office positions) they are those of skilled trades people. If you have a passion or a love to make things or get a kick out of seeing something you made being used and admired by others then a trade is for you. An apprenticeship is not a second rate career, it is the grounding for a very good future, some of the most successful business people today have come from a trade background.
Message to students
At the age of 16 I left school to get a job, I was not successful at getting an apprenticeship before school returned the next year. The reason was because my grades where not good enough, I had fun at school and expected to fall on my feet once I left. Rather then give up I returned back to school and repeated year 11. I put my head down and bum up and improved my grades achieving the first goal of my working career, an apprenticeship. I then set a goal to complete my training, receive my papers and work as a sub contractor, I achieved it. I set goal after goal, some large some small, and slowly I worked my way to achieving each one of them. I made some mistakes along the way and I was told by some that I would not make it, this made me try harder. It is now 30 years since the start of my apprenticeship and I am still setting goals. I now own a multimillion-dollar company that employs over 30 people and we are about to set up operations in 2 other countries, some said I could not do it.
My message to any student who wants to listen is, if you have a passion and a desire, go for it. Set your goals, not too big but achievable, once you reach your goal set another. What is life without a goal, passion or desire?
