c2c info
The C2C Program introduces a "product life cycle" approach to science, maths and technology education by helping schools and students to develop the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Advanced Manufacturing processes and possibilities through a problem based learning approach.
Students and industry work together to solve a problem that requires a product or service. Assisted by industry partners they take the product from the concept, through research and development, production and quality assurance to the final creation and marketing. Along the way they will use the science, maths and technological knowledge they learn in their school subjects.
Nine secondary schools and over 500 students participated in the full C2C Program in 2007. It is expected that over 700 more students will be involved over a full semester of study in 2008. Other schools in the region may also be involved through the electronics and CAD professional development courses and other activities. Schools self nominate for this program and determine the level and details of the school involvement tailored for their respective schools.
