C2C Info
The C2C Program introduces a "product life cycle" approach to science, maths and technology education by helping schools and students to develop the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Advanced Manufacturing processes and possibilities through a problem based learning approach.
Students and industry work together to solve a problem that requires a product or service. Assisted by industry partners they take the product from the concept, through research and development, production and quality assurance to the final creation and marketing. Along the way they will use the science, maths and technological knowledge they learn in their school subjects.
2011 saw a significant growth with the expansion into the south and west of Adelaide. Approximately 3,000 students from 26 secondary schools participated across the C2C suite of programs, compared to around 1,600 in 2010.
Other schools in the region may also be involved through introductory workshops and other activities. Schools self nominate for this program and the level and details of involvement is tailored for their respective schools.
