Pilot at Sunset

BAE Systems Australia is a company committed to being the Australian Defence Force's through-life capability partner in integrated military systems and support solutions. It combines key skills in engineering and systems integration in the land, air and sea domains. In addition we are a leading provider of communications, electronic warfare systems, maritime platforms, military air support, air defence, mission support systems and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. It employs approximately 5,500 people and supports customers at more than 50 locations across the country.

Involvement with C2C Program

BAE Systems Australia is an industry partner with Northern Advanced Manufacturing Industry Group (NAMIG), which supports the C2C program. BAE Systems involvement in the C2C Program includes industry tours for Teachers and Students, providing technical advice in assisting students with the problem-based learning programs as well as our strong involvement in the NAMIG Advisory Body activities. In particular the problem-based learning programs offer young people the opportunity for real industry experience by designing and creating their own projects.

From 2009 to 2012 BAE Systems, in partnership with NAMIG, awarded scholarships to 12 C2C students enrolling in a science, maths or technology course at university or TAFE.

In June 2008, BAE Systems acquired Tenix Defence. Both Tenix and BAE Systems were separately involved with NAMIG and C2C from the beginning. BAE Systems acknowledges the Tenix contribution and continues to support the programs developed by Tenix.

BAE Systems has opportunities for engineering graduates in disciplines such as:

  • Computer Science, Computer Systems or Information Technology
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering.

However, we don't just have opportunities for engineering graduates. BAE Systems offers a number of technical job roles that also play a vital role in the technology development projects we undertake. Those roles include:

  • CAD Technicians
  • Electronics Technicians
  • Trainee Project Controllers
  • Quality Assurance Coordinators
  • Technical Illustrators
  • Support staff, ie Human Resources and Finance.

Message to students

If you are as passionate about great ideas as we are, then working at BAE Systems offers everything you need to advance technology, your career and your life.

The future of BAE Systems relies on the current youth of Australia. To ensure we have the necessary skills to meet future needs of the defence of Australia and its assets will require a well educated, enthusiastic local youth community involvement with science, maths and technology. Working with students through the C2C Program to solve problems related to a product or service, using research and development, production, quality assurance, creation and marketing embraces the through-life capability strategy of our company. We are proud to be part of this rewarding unique approach to skilling Australia.
